Description
The MY (Midlands Youth) Climbing Series is a fun event organised by parents of local young climbers and the climbing walls of the Midlands.
The series is a fun, friendly competition for youth climbers age 7 – 18. It is a warm up for the British Youth Climbing Series run by the BMC and gives young climbers the opportunity to experience competitions in a friendly and supportive environment.
The climbers compete in groups according to age. In the bouldering only rounds, competitors must complete 8 boulder problems, in the roped rounds competitors complete 4 climbing routes.
Groups E and D climb on top ropes with groups C to Junior leading.
The competition is open to anyone, not just those intending to climb in the BMC YCS and competitors can take part in as many rounds as they wish. Certificates are awarded to the three climbers with the highest scores in each group after every round.
The best four from six scores will determine the overall winners of the series with trophies and prizes being awarded at our grand final (ROUND 6).
Competitors can pre-pay their entry here, and avoid the queue at reception. The cost of entry for this round is £18.00. Please note that registration for the MYCS event MUST be done through MYCS, pre-paying for your entry to the event IS NOT REGISTRATION. Please see the MYCS website for information on registering your child.
COMPETITORS WHO ARE TAKING PART BUT HAVE NOT CLIMBED AT CREATION BEFORE MUST COMPLETE AN ON-LINE WAIVER FORM. YOU CAN COMPLETE THE WAIVER ONLINE SEPARATELY AFTER YOU HAVE MADE PAYMENT. OUR RECEPTION TEAM WILL MATCH YOUR WAIVER TO YOUR PRE-PAID ENTRY PAYMENT AND EMAIL YOU TO CONFIRM THAT THE PROCESS IS COMPLETE.
